New(s) Frontiers: Palestinian Protests and Press

Palestine, Protests and Press podcast. L to R: presenters Mark A. Silberstein and Danielle Maisano, and guests Lindsey German and Donnacha DeLong.

In this first episode of our new podcast series New(s) Frontiers, we take a look at the UK government’s crackdown on the pro-Palestine movement. From Draconian anti-terror laws targeting journalists and activists, to increasingly restrictive measures being taken to block the mass protests organised against Israel’s continuing assault on the people of Gaza.

We got two experts together Lindsey German, founding convenor for Stop the War Coalition and Donnacha DeLong an Irish journalist and former president of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) in a panel discussion to examine the impact that these laws have had in the UK regarding a free and open press and the democratic right to protest with regards to Palestine. As part of Synchronicity’s coverage, we are now producing podcasts. The new series looks at social and political stories that have not been covered thoroughly or at all by mainstream media. We hope you enjoy this new medium and remember, you can support us on Buy Me a Coffee where your contributions go directly into producing independent and impactful journalism. Together, we can make a real difference, one story at a time.
